should you choose to come to this retreat instead of, say, going on a date with your spouse? It is a fair question. Just sayin’, you could spend half the cost of the registration fees and go to the KEG, order up sirloin tip steaks, buy desserts, go out for a movie AND buy pop-corn and drinks while you’re at it…Maybe that’s where you are at with your relationship with your spouse.

Or, maybe you are starving for something more. You’ve been to a few hundred movies and you think you’ve got a GOOD marriage—you just don’t know how to take it to the next level to make it a GREAT marriage.

We are not making any promises that we will make you divorce proof or that your marriage will be perfect after coming to this retreat, but I can tell you this: WE HAVE A SINCERE DESIRE TO SEE MARRIAGES THRIVE. We want to be a part of helping make that happen in yours.

Men’s Retreat

Our Speaker- Ray Parker

Reverend Ray has spent 30 years behind bars…

First as the prison Chaplain in Campbell River, BC and then at the Maximum Security Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre. He has seen many men give their lives to Christ and still keeps in touch with a number of them today.

Ray will be speaking on a subject called “The Blessed Man”. We will be examining Psalms 1 and seeing how this relates to men and fathers today.

Ray is recently retired, but continues to be the Volunteer Chaplain for the Kamloops Fire Rescue. Ray and Sharon live in Kamloops, BC; they are blessed with three children and 8 grandchildren.

Volunteers

I am still amazed at how many people still do not know that the camp is open year round. Things don’t stop in September! There are many opportunities for people to get involved and volunteer at camp throughout the year.

Following are some projects that we are hoping to accomplish this winter:

• Install hoist in shop

• Finish out craft shed with shelves and move all equipment over from other shop

• Dismantling kitchen in old lodge

• Build climbing wall

• Help with cooking and dishes on any given weekend

Did you know that for every dollar in camp fees, SABC must raise another dollar in donations to operate summer camp?

This is significant, yet our desire is to enable camp to be accessible to anyone, regardless of financial need. We are looking for Partners of SABC who will commit to supporting SABC regularly each month. Just $50 per month over a year will help cover the costs of 3 kids to attend summer camp.
